I do not care whether you are pro-life or pro-choice, if you don’t care about Planned Parenthood funding being yanked because of politics, you aren’t paying enough attention. If you aren’t aware, funding provided by the Komen Foundation (thousands of dollars a year), that used to help provide breast-cancer screenings (among other breast-health services) has been pulled.
You probably remember me ranting about this last year, but just one year ago I found out that I had cancer, and it would have gone unnoticed by me for who knows how long, if it weren’t for the care that I was provided at Planned Parenthood. Even though my cancer was not breast cancer, the fact that this preventative health care is being threatened is outrageous.
Only something like 3% of Planned Parenthood’s funds go to abortion, so this sort of issue is not really up for debate. This is a matter of right and wrong. Politics should never be a factor in women’s health. Sorry to hit you with the longest update ever, but I think this is important and so should you! Help provide affordable health care, anything helps.
