Sun Airway - “Your Moon” from Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier
I’ve never been a morning person and though I’ve spent the majority of my life waking up early for one thing or another, I can’t ever seem to get myself on a proper sleep schedule. For the last few years my work schedule was flexible and I had the ability to sleep in as long as I was at work within a 5 hour window. I had a good run, but now I’m back on a set schedule of 8am-4pm. It’s ultimately a good thing, but getting re-acclimated to waking up at 6:30am every day has been a periodic struggle depending on how irresponsible I am the night before.
Sun Airway is perfect for those late nights that turn into slow moving mornings. “Your Moon” in particular has an airy calmness to it that makes the dread of morning commutes more tolerable and eases the social anxiety I feel crammed next to a bunch of strangers on a crowded rush hour train. The breezy synths, layered vocal melodies, and repetition make this song I could easily listen to for an hour without even thinking about it. It’s immediate enough to command your attention and familiar enough to serve as background music when you can’t focus on anything in particular.
way way good.
